How do Morten now you see why I gave up pre-match betting about 15 years ago, I never won a fucking bean. My pessimism was based on our total lack of a squad and the fact we had bugger all up front. I never imagined we'd actually base everything on team work and being able to defend. We've had as easy a start to a season fixture-wise as it's possible to get, so no-one is getting carried away. Cabaye looks like this season'd Tiote i.e. he's excellent and we wont be able to hold onto him as he's too good for us and one of the big guns will move for him sooner or later. Amazingly, we still haven't got aleft-back but Ryan Taylor has done better than anyone could have expected. I still think we'll finish bottom half but fair due to Pardew he's done a great job with fuck all money so far. A-ha! |

Went to Benfica - Rio Ave tonight, and everyone I talked to asked me if I were from Newcastle. I didn't really understand why until I saw the split scarves that said you're playing here in a couple of days. Any of you going? Lisbon is a beautiful city, the beer is cheap and you should beat this lot over two games.
