I checked out both dates and best bet from the North West is to fly from Manc to Dusseldorf with FlyBe then get a train to Oberhausen as its only 20 mins away and costs about £7. The Mercure is indeed the closest and has the best reveiws but is not the cheapest at £70. To get to Eindhoven you can get another train from Oberhausen that takes about 2 hours with 1 change or more depending on the route and costs about £20. There are 2 hotels but neither is massively close to the venue but still doable Sofitel is £59 and Holiday Inn is £57. Trains from Eindhoven to Dusseldorf are approx £20 then you can fly back into Manc Flights work out £100 for a return and trains get cheaper the more people you book for so these prices may vary quite a bit This is just from a very quick look so I'm happy for other info that people might have found

Oof thats £78! What is there in Oberhausen that makes it so pricy? A whole bunch of fuck-all, just quietly. It's a shitty industrial town with a massive shopping centre. But while it's not so cheap, from what I remember of the last time I was there (and I think Jim and Mark had the same drama) that as soon as the show was over we had to high-tail it for the Hauptbahnhof to be able to get back to Duisburg which is only like 5 mins away. So maybe it's worth paying that little bit extra for the convenience?

Yeah I'm always wary of staying anywhere that involves public transport after a show as I lose track of time and end up walking so i think it will be one of those 2 we stay in!

I dunno, we will prob arrive on the Friday as our flights are a bit gash and we've been let down by them before so I'd rather have to hang out in a hole for a day than miss the show
