After the 07 season it might be a long time before I get to attend a professional football event. Despite the facts that the MLS is not a high standard of football and I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to see a match, I have always enjoyed being able to watch pro football in person since the Real Salt Lake club was started 2 years ago. Aside from MLS matches, the club's presence has made it possible for me to attend a world cup qualifier match and a match with Real Madrid. But the owner has just announced that he is going to sell the club because the taxpayers of Salt Lake county have refused to help pay for a new soccer-specific stadium. Until now, RSL have played their home games at the University of Utah's football stadium, but their lease runs out after the 07 season. With no place to play the club is going to have to relocate or disband altogether. Fuck it all. Anyone live near a football stadium and need a roommate?

Never mind you can always ask David Beckscum to see if he'll sponsor you?

Move to Belgium. You can reach all first league clubs in a maximum 2 hour drive. And because you're not used to high standard football, you won't notice a difference

That's fucked! I just read the news on some shitty blog site (probably one of the one's I post on) just then. From one brother in a footballing-backwater to another, that's fucking shit.

Update: The state has decided to step in and pay for the stadium to keep pro soccer in Utah. Sorry for getting all emo on you. I hope my mascara didn't drip on your sleeves

Your protest bore fruit. Direct action can work.
