How about Andy Carroll? According to an article in my local paper he's supposed to be Alan Shearer, Andy Cole & Malcom Macdonald all rolled into one.

The player most people here compare Carroll to is Big Dunc - he can be "unplayable" (popular term used for physical old-fashioned style forward that can put himself about a bit) - on and off the pitch, I just hope he doesnt get locked up next month.

haha what a nice guy. I've heard he has a pretty huge ego too. I'll buy everyone on this board a pint if he last 5 1/2 years. Last manager to last 5 years at Newcastle was Joe Harvey (1962-75). Bobby Robson was 3 days under 5 years. More nerd statistics from the net : Alan Pardew has a win percentage of only 17% in the opening six games at the 4 clubs he has managed before Newcastle. Sounds promising before the match tomorrow |
